The Fit
Field & Flock yarn is spun from Welsh wool the Monkstone Flock at Trevayne Farm in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
At Monkstone, our mission is to foster a local circular economy that champions the rich heritage of Welsh wool and our community, ensuring it is sustainable and traceable. We aim to reinvigorate the regional wool industry by implementing farming schemes that prioritise environmental stewardship and community resilience.

Fabrics
The Monkstone flock is made up three breeds; Black Welsh Mountain (Defaid Mynydd Duon) which give a deep reddish-black shade, Dorset with a creamy ecru tone and Coloured Dorsets which provide a slate grey fleece when spun. Trevayne Farm has been a family-run farm since 1935, situated on the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Their sheep graze across the 100 acres of open pastures alongside cattle and pigs. The Reed family pay attention to the sheep’s needs at all times, making sure they are looked after to the best of their ability and shearing on a yearly basis with experienced local shearers to ensure a good quality fleece. The fleeces are washed and spun in the UK before being sent to local craftspeople to be woven or knit.

It features a light gauge knit in super soft, breathable and naturally insulating wool, this transitional piece can be tied in multiple ways for endless styling options.

Classic beanie hat made from 100% Welsh wool, our Black Welsh Mountain yarn mixed with a Merino/Romney blend from a trusted farmer in North Wales. Knitted by family-run Welsh company, Corgi, using hand-operated knitting machines and finished by hand. It features a rib structure with a turn-up brim for an adjustable fit in super soft, breathable and naturally insulating wool.
The hat uses a combination of two yarns, our Black Welsh Mountain reddish-black colour and a cream Merino/Romney blend producing a marled yarn, speckled appearance. Being completely natural, colours may differ slightly.
