Monkstone was born from a single annual ritual, the shearing of our flock on Trevayne Farm.
Last week, our Monkstone flock had their annual shearing, carried out by our trusty team of shearers. The farmyard came alive with a buzz of activity and a gathering crowd.
Shearing is always an exciting time at Monkstone, marking the beginning of another journey for our fleeces. Over the coming year, this freshly shorn wool will be transformed into a collection of thoughtfully made products, from knitting yarn, hats and scarves, to jumpers, blankets and cloth.
And it’s not just us who benefit. Shearing allows our sheep to shed their thick winter fleeces, helping them stay cool and comfortable in the hot summer months.
