Community Weave-up

We are so pleased to have partnered with The Bristol Weaving Mill on their innovative Community Weave-up project.

The scheme brings together 20 farms and brands on one weaving run, creating a regional textile collaboration. This means that we all share the same warp, made up of British Wool deadstock yarns, and each contributor adds their own section of yarn and design to the weft, offering an affordable solution to small-batch woven production whilst keeping fashion miles to a minimum. It also creates excitement in the design process, as the outcome is unknown due to the deadstock yarns on the warp.

Launched in September 2024, The Bristol Weaving Mill took inspiration from the wine cooperatives of France, harnessing collective interest and economies of scale to produce UK-made products at a better price point, eliminating the need to send yarn abroad for manufacturing. Our blankets are part of the first run and we’re delighted with how they’ve turned out.
