Winter in the Meadows

After a busy run-up to Christmas and delight in playing a part in our customers’ celebrations, we took a step back to reflect on the year, and felt immense gratitude for all the support we received as we have grown the Monkstone brand.

We started January energised and excited for the year to come, after some rest and recuperation. We had more snow, which was exciting and unexpected!

We have spent the rest of our winter planning, painting, renovating, organising and gearing up for the opening of our new farm shop. We’ve been researching the best Welsh produce to stock to complement our own farm meat, sourcing furniture and decor from local vintage shops and charity shops, taste-testing lots of baked goods. Working with Capital Roasters in the nearby town of Pembroke, we have developed our own blends of coffee, named after Bertie and Violet Reed, the first generation of the Reed family to settle at Trevayne Farm.

We are excited to have a permanent space to show our Monkstone wares, alongside our harvests from the land and thoughtfully selected Welsh produce and are looking forward to welcoming our lovely customers in.
