Cut from 8.7oz British-made waxed cotton, the cloth has a traditional tartan check in earthy shades of brown, chosen to sit naturally within the landscape. Woven from 100% BCI cotton, it is impregnated with a blend of oils and petroleum-based waxes using a traditional wax application that gives the cloth its water-resistant qualities.
At 295gsm, it has a substantial yet wearable feel. The Silkwax finish gives the cloth a soft, slightly oily handle and a quiet matt appearance. It begins life noticeably waxed, but with wear the finish softens, marks and develops its own character.
Lined in cotton for comfort and warmth, the jacket has a straightforward cut and functional details drawn from traditional farm clothing — designed for movement, layering and the everyday realities of being outdoors.
The waxed cloth is water resistant rather than waterproof, offering practical protection from changing weather while retaining the character of a traditional working fabric.
